The vibrant community of East Wall is perfectly located on the doorstep of one of Dublin’s oldest inner-city neighbourhoods on the north side of Dublin city. You can’t go wrong for dinner at Da Mimmo’s on North Strand, a family run Italian offering many delicious authentic dishes, tasty pastas and pizza options all served in a very quaint restaurant setting. Or for something a little different take to the water on the nearby MV Cill Airne. For a quiet night in it’s hard to beat Jani’s takeaway for fish & chips.
The area boasts an array of local shops and amenities centred around Church Road village with both Lidl and Aldi supermarkets at hand plus other smaller local outlets including the long established Cool Look Hair Salon, The City Barber, Fitzmaurice’s Pharmacy, Curtis family butchers, Mood Launderette and the East Wall Medical Centre.
For the sports and fitness enthusiasts one there is a wide selection of gyms, sports and recreational clubs along with several lovely parks offering great outdoor space including several playgrounds. On the doorstep is the 3 Arena the Odeon cinema.
The primary school in the area is St Joseph’s Co-Ed plus there are a variety of post-primary schools located very close by as well as easy public transport links to others.
East Wall boasts a wide style of homes from the original redbrick period style homes to more modern apartments. Prices also range hugely in the area and can be anywhere from €220,000 (smaller needing extensive work) to €600,000 for extended and modern renovated homes. The average house would be a 2 bed of approx. 70 sqm in fair condition asking around €340,000 - €370,000. As with other areas, homes in good condition are selling quickly and those requiring work taking a little longer but average time is 4 – 7 weeks.
