Quillsen has today announced its acquisition of Christies Property Management Partnership (Christies PMP), a respected and long-standing player in the Irish property management and lettings sector. This acquisition is a significant milestone in Quillsen’s strategic growth plans, substantially enhancing its property management offerings to nearly 600 rental and managed properties.
The acquisition will also prompt a 20pc increase in staff to support the expanded client base. The Christies PMP office in Santry joins Quillsen's five offices across Dublin and Meath, further strengthening its presence across the greater Dublin area.
Marian McQuillan, Director of Quillsen, spoke of the development,
“Historically, our focus has been on property sales and valuations, but we have been expanding our lettings and property management division in recent years. This acquisition allows us to accelerate that growth. Our goal is to drive this expansion through both organic growth and selective acquisitions or mergers.”
Christies PMP founder Bríd O’Sullivan will take on a new role in business development for Quillsen.
Ms. McQuillan added,
“Bríd saw a market gap in Dublin over 30 years ago and, along with her brother Richard O’Sullivan, built Christies PMP into a leader in property and tenancy management. This is a very exciting development for us at Quillsen and the deep industry knowledge and expertise of the team at Christies will be invaluable in advancing our rental and property management services and in broadening our reach.”
Market Dynamics and the Future of Property Management in Dublin
Quillsen note that the Irish property market is facing some unique challenges as we move into 2025. Looking ahead, Quillsen report that Dublin’s rental market will likely remain competitive, with supply-demand imbalances driving up rents despite the 2pc rental cap on existing leases.
According to Ms. McQuillan, the scarcity of agents focused solely on tenancy management, like Christies PMP, reinforces the value of this acquisition.
“We’re in a highly competitive market with over 400 agencies listed in Dublin alone. There’s ample opportunity for consolidation that brings operational efficiencies and strengthens service offerings. A merger like ours, built on shared values and a commitment to excellence, is a win-win for both clients and the team.”
Bríd O’Sullivan, Founder of Christies PMP, said,
“We’ve been seeking a partner with the vision to support our growth ambitions, and we’re thrilled to have found that in Quillsen. Their values align perfectly with ours, and I look forward to working together and continuing to deliver an exceptional service to our clients.”
Ms. McQuillen went on to say,
“I am delighted to officially welcome Bríd and Richard and their experienced team to Quillsen. Their collective expertise in property and tenancy management will be instrumental in strengthening our offerings as we continue to expand.”
